Job summary

Archer is seeking a software-focused engineer in the San Jose, CA area to advance our all-electric VTOL aircraft simulations and tooling. You will deploy simulations, build data pipelines, and maintain CI systems to support Model-Based Design and flight software development.

Ideal candidates have a BS in an engineering field, 4+ years of experience, strong Python, and CI tools experience with Simulink. This remote-friendly role involves collaboration with Avionics teams and some travel.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace/EE/CE/Software Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in building software tools (design, implementation, maintenance).
• Proficiency in Python.

Responsibilities

• Deploy large-scale closed-loop simulations to cloud computing resources.
• Develop tools to analyze and display results from large batch simulations.
• Build and manage infrastructure for Model-Based Design for flight software and simulations.
• Work with Avionics engineers to define generated code interfaces for GNC software.
• Manage and grow the CI system including MIL, SIL, and HIL testing.
• Develop tools to interface with data pipelines for processing simulation and flight test data.
• Develop infrastructure to support certification activities (traceability, test automation, documentation).
• Develop and maintain AI tools to improve productivity.
