Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a spacecraft/navigation hardware engineer to contribute to GN&C hardware development, requirement generation, and integration across the vehicle lifecycle. You will collaborate with propulsion, structures, thermal, and dynamics teams to ensure robust navigation performance.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, design coordination, and documentation, with expectations for payload compatibility and verification across flight and ground tests.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in engineering or related field with relevant experience.
• Experience with GN&C hardware, navigation sensors, and integration and test.
• Proficiency in avionics communications (RS-422, Spacewire, etc.).
• Knowledge of GD&T and production drawings for flight hardware.
• Experience designing, building, testing, or flying spacecraft GN&C systems.
• Ability to lead system engineering and configuration control.

Responsibilities

• Develop GN&C hardware requirements from system specs with flows to subsystems.
• Design GN&C hardware configuration and perform sensor performance trades.
• Coordinate procurement, vendor liaison, delivery, and acceptance of navigation hardware.
• Guide testing and analyses: flight tests, thermal vacuum, vibration, and performance verification.
• Support test campaigns and component-level navigation test programs.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop and on-vehicle testing across programs.
• Maintain design coordination with cross-functional teams to meet performance goals.
