Job summary
Blue Origin in Seattle, WA is seeking a spacecraft navigation hardware engineer to contribute to GN&C subsystem requirements and verification across the program lifecycle. You will develop navigation hardware requirements, support design studies, and coordinate procurement, installation, and verification of navigation hardware.
You will lead integration and test activities in cleanroom environments, validate performance through flight tests and environmental tests, and collaborate with avionics,
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in engineering or related field with preference for Aerospace/Electrical engineering.
- Experience with GN&C hardware such as inertial units, GPS receivers, cameras, star-trackers, lidars or EO/IR sensors.
- Experience leading integration and test activities in cleanroom environments, including optical contamination control.
Responsibilities
- Develop navigation hardware requirements from system to component level and verification methods.
- Support navigation hardware design studies and performance trades.
- Coordinate procurement, vendor coordination, delivery, acceptance, installation and verification of navigation hardware.
- Guide testing and analyses including flight tests, thermal vacuum, vibration testing to meet specs.
- Support navigation hardware test campaigns and component-level navigation tests.
- Assist in hardware-in-the-loop testing and on-vehicle/flight testing.
