Job summary

Terumo Medical Corporation seeks a Senior Global Trade & Operations Compliance Specialist for the Puerto Rico market. You will own end-to-end trade compliance, ensure alignment with Global Trade Controls Standards, and drive timely, compliant movement of goods across medical devices, pharma, and biotech environments.

You will lead cross-functional teams, resolve complex documentation issues, and strengthen compliance governance while supporting regulated supply chain readiness and audit

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of import/export regulations, screening, licensing, HS classification, and FTA qualification.
• Strong understanding of U.S. Customs, FDA import requirements, export controls, and shipment documentation governance.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (medical devices, pharma, biotech).
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, Logistics, Compliance, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end trade compliance processes under Global Trade Controls Standards for Puerto Rico.
• Lead import/export shipment compliance, coordinating with freight forwarders, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
• Review and maintain import/export documentation, broker instructions, and audit evidence.
• Analyze trade data from SAP, ERP, broker portals to monitor risks and trends.
• Investigate and resolve complex trade compliance exceptions and documentation gaps.
• Develop, update, and standardize local procedures, controls, and training aligned to global standards.
