Job summary

Stem-Search-Group is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead procurement for a global, hands-on supply chain. You will work directly with the Director of Supply Chain on day-to-day buying and input on where the supply base goes next, including 400+ part numbers and international sourcing.

You will negotiate terms, manage vendor performance, and support make-versus-buy decisions while using SAP/ERP tools and data dashboards to improve visibility into purchasing and planning.

Qualifications

• 6+ years purchasing or procurement in a BOM-based manufacturing environment.
• 10+ years preferred.
• Experience sourcing internationally (China, Japan, Germany, etc.).
• Vendor management and contract negotiation beyond routine PO processing.
• Experience with SAP or a comparable large ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing across 400+ active part numbers, balancing high-volume buys with strategic components.
• Source components from domestic and international suppliers, including relationships in China.
• Identify, vet, and onboard new suppliers to diversify the base.
• Negotiate terms beyond POs, including payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Manage vendor performance and resolve quality or delivery issues.
• Support make-versus-buy evaluations between in-house production and outsourcing.
• Track purchasing activity in an ERP and contribute to inventory/planning processes.
• Assist sourcing strategy with Director of Supply Chain and supplier diversification.
