Job summary

STRS Ohio seeks a Securities Trader or Senior Securities Trader to join the Investment/Domestic Equity team onsite in Ohio. The role covers currency, equity and derivative trading with emphasis on cost-efficient execution for the total fund.

The ideal candidate holds a business/finance-related degree and has several years of equity trading experience, including leadership responsibilities. Competitive compensation is paired with a comprehensive benefits package and onsite amenities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance or related field required.
• Three or more years equity trading experience required; five years preferred.
• Five to ten years equity trading experience required; ten years preferred for senior role.
• Previous supervisory and leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute purchases and sales of global currency, equity and equity derivative securities.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of trading strategies and execution plans.
• Assist senior traders and international portfolio managers in executing international trades.
• Collaborate with the Transaction Cost Analysis vendor to analyze activity and optimize costs.
• Maintain a commission structure aligned with best practices across all trading categories.
• Reconcile equity transaction cost data with STRS Ohio accounting system.
