Securities Operations Specialist I or II – STRS Ohio

STRS Ohio is seeking a Securities Operations Specialist I or II to join the Finance/Finance Investments team.

Compensation (Grades 8N And 9N)

• Grade 8N – $30.98 – $34.85/hr.
• Grade 9N – $32.67 – $39.21/hr.

Work Schedule

8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday‑Friday (On‑site)

General Summary (Grades 8N And 9N)

Under the direction of the manager, Investment Operations, ensure securities transactions are executed within State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio’s policy and perform duties related to the processing of securities transactions.

Summary Of Responsibilities (Grades 8N And 9N)

• Research and process corporate action events for designated asset class coverage.
• Process daily investment transactions related to purchases and sells of bonds, stocks, alternative investments and real estate as well as transactions for dividends, interest, principal and corporate action events into the investment management system.
• Work with external brokers and internal departments to match trade activity.
• Notify custodian banks of trade activity by stated deadlines.
• Review and complete daily position reconciliations and prepare official monthly reconciliation sign‑off on assigned portfolios in the investment management system. (Grade 9N)
• Work within the team of investment operations to backup or assist other associates during periods of absences and peak transaction activity.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in a related field preferred. (Grade 8N)
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. (Grade 9N)
• One to three years of investment processing or related experience preferred. (Grade 8N)
• Three to five years of investment processing or related experience preferred. (Grade 9N)
• Knowledge of investment management systems and industry securities operations preferred.
• High level of quantitative, analytical and mathematical skills required.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet applications required.
• Excellent organizational skills and high degree of accuracy and attention to detail required.
