Job summary

SPX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager III to lead industrial HVAC and power plant related projects from order intake through closeout.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets and schedules, and serve as the primary customer contact, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with strong margin control. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in project/construction management, experience in power/industrial settings, and hands-on use of SAP, MS Project, and Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of project or construction management experience
• Experience in power plant or similar industry
• Minimum of 5 years of project or construction management experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
• Man-loaded project scheduling and unit-based project tracking experience
• Knowledge of international shipments, logistics terminology, and requirements
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive project success
• Self-reliant with the ability to manage projects independently with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and business acumen skills
• Extensive understanding of construction contracts and lifecycle management
• High level of ethical conduct

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership and Execution
• Lead cross-functional project teams, assign tasks, and monitor execution from proposal through completion
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and consortium partners
• Coordinate communication with suppliers, construction teams, and internal stakeholders
• Manage global project activities, including travel to job sites, meetings, and workshops
• Financial and Contract Management
• Own project financials, including margin targets, cost tracking, and revenue forecasting (POC)
• Develop and manage payment schedules and cash flow plans
• Oversee contract management, change orders, and claims processes. Verify material costing and ensure as-sold margin accuracy
• Scheduling, Risk, and Operational Oversight
• Manage project timelines across engineering, construction, and supply chain functions
• Lead project risk assessment, mitigation, and insurance management
• Track deliveries and ensure timely, accurate fulfillment of materials
• Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping and documentation requirements
• Reporting, Documentation, and Continuous Improvement
• Maintain accurate project status reports and provide regular updates to leadership
• Oversee document control, including management of the Document Control List (DCL)
• Drive OpEx initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
• Lead lessons learned processes to improve future projects and proposal development
