Job summary
Biotage, a global leader in separation sciences, is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the Peptide Synthesis & Purification portfolio. This high-impact role combines strategic leadership with hands-on product management to drive growth.
You'll define strategy, lead a team of Product Managers, and collaborate with R&D, Sales and Marketing to deliver competitive solutions across the SMST and Scale-Up ranges within the DDD business. Travel internationally.
Qualifications
- Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
- Significant experience in Product Management or Strategic Marketing within life sciences.
- Strong technical expertise in peptide synthesis and purification.
- Experience managing global scientific product portfolios.
- Proven leadership coaching Product Managers or teams.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication.

Working closely with colleagues across Product Management, R&D, Sales, Marketing and Operations, you'll define product strategy, drive innovation and lead a team of Product Managers to deliver sustainable global growth.
- Develop and execute the global product strategy, roadmap and lifecycle plans.
- Drive commercial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, market share and portfolio optimisation.
- Define compelling product positioning, pricing and value propositions.
- Translate customer insights, Voice of Customer programmes and market intelligence into winning product strategies.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, portfolio expansion and strategic partnerships.
- Lead cross‑functional global product launches from concept through commercialisation.
- Partner with R&D to shape future technology development and product innovation.
- Monitor portfolio performance and market trends, driving continuous improvement and informed decisions.
- Build strong relationships with customers, KOLs and strategic partners worldwide.
In addition, you'll provide leadership across the wider SMST and Scale-Up portfolio by:
- Leading and developing Product Managers across multiple product families.
- Aligning product strategies, investment priorities and commercial objectives.
- Coordinating integrated product roadmaps across technologies and customer workflows.
- Representing the portfolio in senior leadership discussions and strategic decision‑making.
You'll be an experienced scientific‑commercial leader who enjoys combining strategic thinking with practical execution.
- A degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline (PhD and/or MBA advantageous).
- Significant experience in Product Management, Strategic Marketing or similar commercial roles within life sciences or analytical technologies.
- Strong technical expertise in peptide synthesis, peptide purification, chromatography or related workflows.
- Experience managing global scientific product portfolios throughout the product lifecycle.
- Proven leadership experience, including coaching or developing Product Managers or scientific‑commercial teams.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing product performance and investment decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills within global matrix organisations.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- A collaborative, customer‑focused approach with a passion for innovation.
