Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to oversee operations in our global data centers, monitor and maintain data center networks and servers, and interface with data center NOCs.

You will deploy and repair hardware, manage migrations, and coordinate rack designs, leveraging eight years of experience in a NOC environment and strong Linux/server administration skills.

Qualifications

• Eight years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree.
• Hands-on hardware experience in a NOC environment.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware and networking equipment.
• Solid troubleshooting skills in large-scale data centers.
• Understanding of Linux system and server administration.

Responsibilities

• Deploying and repairing servers, storage systems, routers, switches, and other hardware
• Installing hardware, cabling, firmware, and software on-site and remotely
• Managing hardware decommission projects, including disposal and data destruction
• Shipping and receiving networking equipment to maintain network availability
• Performing data center migrations and hardware platform upgrades
• Coordinating data center deployments from hardware requests to rack design
