Job summary

New Balance is seeking a Sr. Material Planner in Boston, MA to develop and execute global material plans supporting apparel demand, production, and launches.

You will translate forecasts and manufacturing constraints into actionable strategies to ensure material availability across the supply chain. The role emphasizes strong analytics, cross-functional collaboration, and the optimization of material investment while reducing liability and risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field and 5+ years of experience in material planning, supply planning, inventory management, sourcing, or supply chain operations.
• Advanced analytical skills to interpret large data sets, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable planning decisions.
• Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills including forecasting, inventory optimization, risk analysis, and scenario planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain global material plans using line plans, forecasts, BOMs, production schedules, and demand signals to ensure material availability.
• Manage the material commitment process, balancing service levels, launch readiness, and inventory investments while minimizing risk.
• Analyze global demand trends, forecast variability, supplier constraints, lead times, and material consumption to identify risks and drive planning decisions.
• Create and maintain material supply plans aligning sourcing, manufacturing, and inventory strategies with global supply chain requirements.
• Monitor shortages, excess inventory, and disruptions; develop mitigation plans with cross-functional partners and suppliers.
• Provide visibility into financial exposure, excess inventory, and consumption opportunities in collaboration with Finance.
