Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation seeks a Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations to lead Americas manufacturing across six facilities in the US and Brazil. This role oversees over 1,000 employees, a $180M operating budget, and $30–40M annual capital investments, driving safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.

The candidate will develop and execute strategies with Plant Managers, ensuring regulatory compliance and strong cross-functional collaboration with supply chain and procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or advanced degree in Chemistry with manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 10 years manufacturing leadership in the chemical industry.
• Experience delivering results in a matrix organization.
• Excellent communication and networking skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with facilitation experience.
• Self-motivated and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Regular site visits in the US and Brazil, plus global team meetings.

Responsibilities

• Represent six plants on the global manufacturing team and regional business team.
• Partner with business and commercial teams using a collaborative approach.
• Cascade vision for operations and lead strategy development for improvement.
• Develop safety culture and reduce OSHA incidents while implementing process safety standards.
• Ensure regulatory environmental compliance across facilities.
• Manage regional OPEX budget (> $180M) and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Oversee capital budget ($30–40M/year) ensuring on-time, on-budget projects.
• Drive productivity improvements with Plant Managers and improve asset reliability (OEE).
• Improve mechanical integrity and maintenance performance; reduce non-conforming materials.
• Foster continuous improvement from shop floor to leadership, develop and recognize people.
