Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Network Architect to define and evolve the secure, scalable network architecture supporting engineering, manufacturing, autonomy development, and enterprise operations.

As part of the Cloud & Infrastructure team within Enterprise Operations, you will establish standards across offices, labs, manufacturing facilities, data centers, data centers, cloud environments, and international locations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise network engineering and architecture experience.
• Leadership across architecture reviews and cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
• Deep expertise in routing, switching, WAN, VPN, high availability design.
• Experience with AWS and Azure networking, including private connectivity and cloud routing.
• Ability to create architecture diagrams, reference designs, and implementation guidance.
• Willingness to travel periodically and support after‑hours work.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise network architecture, standards, roadmaps, and reference designs.
• Design scalable LAN, WAN, data-center, VPN, SASE, NAC, and security solutions across a globally distributed environment.
• Develop high‑level and low‑level designs for offices, labs, manufacturing facilities, data centers, cloud environments, acquisitions, and site integrations.
• Lead architecture reviews, technology evaluations, proofs of concept, and design decisions for strategic network initiatives.
• Advance network automation and infrastructure‑as‑code practices using Terraform, Ansible, Python, APIs, and config‑management platforms.
• Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, design documents, decision records, implementation standards, and operational documentation.
