Job summary

Shield AI in San Mateo, CA seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and secure our global infrastructure spanning data centers, on‑prem sites, and public clouds. You will partner with cross‑functional teams to improve network performance, availability, and security for both classified and unclassified workloads, with limited travel.

You will implement routing, switching, WLAN, VPN, and firewall architectures, automate provisioning, and support agile delivery while mentoring operations

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience supporting and administering complex network systems in production environments.
• Expertise in network routing, switching, and security architectures.
• Experience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement routing, switching, WLAN, and firewall infrastructure.
• Deploy and manage WAN and VPN connectivity for enterprise and mission environments.
• Develop and apply network automation to streamline provisioning, monitoring, and configuration.
• Collaborate with Cloud, Platform, Security, and Infra teams to standardize architectures.
• Lead capacity planning and provide growth optimization recommendations.
