Job summary

Google's Hardware Operations team manages the physical infrastructure behind its search technology. As Hardware Operations Manager, you will lead Data Center Technicians and oversee the installation of servers and components, handling complex installations and troubleshooting.

Your group installs, configures, tests, troubleshoots and maintains hardware and server software, including networks. You may lead small projects and develop contingency plans to keep operations reliable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
• 5 years of experience managing technical teams, vendor or contract management and delivery.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

Responsibilities

• Foster a collaborative team environment and communicate business priorities.
• Oversee day-to-day data center operations, resolving problems and shaping global compute/network architecture.
• Demonstrate ability to implement and drive safety culture at the site.
• Manage project implementations within the team aligned to company objectives.
