Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, or related field or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible GIS experience, preferably in local government
• Supervisory experience with proven leadership and management skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of Esri ArcGIS products
• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server database administration
• Experience developing and implementing software in a networked environment
• Knowledge of RDBMS concepts, networking, and internet technologies
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• General knowledge of engineering and surveying principles
• Ability to read engineering drawings and plats
• Photogrammetry and aerial imagery interpretation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and solve problems independently
• Ability to train others on GIS tools

Responsibilities

• Oversee Cass County's geospatial operations and GIS spatial database.
• Manage 911 addressing systems, web-based GIS platforms, and aerial imagery projects.
• Supervise and mentor the GIS Technician and coordinate with consultants.
• Collaborate with agencies such as FEMA and the U.S. Census Bureau on projects.
• Evaluate emerging GIS technologies and respond to citizen inquiries.
