Job summary

CORE Electric Cooperative in Colorado is seeking a GIS Manager to lead the Geographic Information System program, guiding strategy, operations, data governance, and system integrations to support electric utility planning and asset management.

You will supervise GIS staff, manage budgets and vendors, and collaborate across Engineering, Operations, IT, and Customer Service to deliver maps, dashboards, and analyses that inform decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field.
• Ten years of progressively responsible GIS experience.
• Supervisory or people leadership experience in a technical environment.
• Experience administering or supporting technical systems involving configuration, implementation, programming, integration, analysis, or database management.
• Experience managing complex GIS programs or projects in an electric utility or similar environment.
• Experience supporting enterprise GIS applications, spatial databases, and system integrations.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct or indirect supervision to GIS staff and contractors.
• Leads GIS department with goals, priorities, and work plans aligned to organizational objectives.
• Manages GIS budgets, contracts, licenses, vendors, and technology investments.
• Directs complex GIS projects including platform upgrades, data migrations, and system integrations.
• Oversees enterprise GIS applications, databases, web maps, dashboards, and mobile solutions.
