Job summary

Dallas City Hall is seeking a Geographic Information System Analyst III to provide advanced analysis, programming, and testing to support the City’s GIS. This role maintains software, assists in database and network tasks, and helps optimize GIS applications.

You will design and develop web GIS apps using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and Django, and produce reports and datasets for zoning, property, and infrastructure analyses. Strong collaboration with teams is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Planning, Computer Science, Information Systems, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.
• Two years designing and/or implementing GIS.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily operational support to GIS users and lead other analysts.
• Develop and maintain web GIS apps using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and Django.
• Provide programming, testing, and analysis for GIS development and refinement.
• Prepare technical reports on geographic models and zoning data.
• Train technicians on databases, software, and GIS tools.
• Coordinate GIS databases for departments and prepare inspections reports.
