Job summary

UDC is seeking a full-time Cloud Architect to lead GIS cloud system architecture and deliver cloud-based solutions for utility clients. You will guide cloud strategy, architect designs, and mentor staff; requires ArcGIS expertise and deep cloud platform experience.

This role reports to the Director of Enterprise Architecture and offers competitive compensation and benefits. The position emphasizes hands-on cloud implementation, cost estimation, and architecture governance across multi-region

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and Master's degrees in IT, CS, or related discipline.
• Active cloud certification from AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle.
• 10–15 years of cloud consulting experience on AWS or Azure, preferably for utilities and GIS.
• Extensive experience with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise/Pro/Online.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform/CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with GPU technologies from major vendors.
• Understanding of load balancing and reverse proxy solutions (NGINX, F5, Azure/AWS equivalents).
• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise Manager/Monitor and Prometheus/CloudWatch.
• Kafka, Boomi, and Mulesoft experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead GIS cloud system architecture workshops and client discussions.
• Develop cloud solution statements of work, LOE, and project schedules.
• Manage technical cloud deliverables including diagrams, use-cases, and deployment manuals.
• Provide cloud security guidance using VPCs/VNets and similar services.
• Mentor architects, engineers, and analysts in cloud technologies.
