Job summary

UDC is seeking a full-time System Architect to provide enterprise architecture leadership for GIS projects. You will guide system design, deployments, and security across datacenters, supporting internal IT and client engagements.

The role requires deep GIS and EA experience, virtualization expertise (VMware/Citrix/Hyper‑V/Nutanix), and hands-on Kubernetes and Docker skills to deliver scalable architectures and compliant licensing. Occasional travel may apply.

Qualifications

11-16 years of work experience in enterprise system consulting and large-scale technology projects, preferably for utility customers.
6-11 years of work experience in enterprise GIS with system design, EA, implementation, and administration.
ArcGIS products including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online experience.
Datacenter virtualization and hypervisor platforms such as VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V, Nutanix.
Experience configuring enterprise security solutions and related best practices.
Experience with GPU technologies from NVIDIA/AMD.
Knowledge of load balancers and reverse proxies like F5 BIG-IP, NGINX, Citrix ADC.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Azure DevOps, Citrix, VMware vSphere.
Familiarity with Kafka, Boomi, MuleSoft integration tools.
Hands-on Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, containerization, and orchestration tools (Puppet, Chef, Terraform).

Responsibilities

Lead GIS Enterprise Architecture workshops and prepare presentation content for utility customers.
Provide technical expertise for system design, deployment, assessment, and managed services.
Support internal IT by managing server, storage, network, and appliance infrastructure in datacenters.
Manage architectural deliverables including diagrams, use-cases, requirements, design, test cases, and deployment manuals.
Facilitate GIS roadmapping workshops for utility customers.
Create high-level and detailed Enterprise Architecture diagrams covering software, hardware, network, storage, security, and integration.
Author system architecture specifications for deployments with standard architecture views and release schedules.
Validate system requirements and sizing using industry tools and best practices.
Provide guidance to clients on private networks and security posture for datacenters.
Offer architecture direction to development, QA, and training teams.
Maintain visibility of software licensing and ensure compliance.
