Job summary

City Utilities of Springfield is seeking a seasoned GIS professional to manage the enterprise GIS lifecycle, ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient GIS infrastructure across ArcGIS Pro, Portal, Server, and Online.

The role requires strong technical leadership, data modeling, and automation using Python, Arcade, Model Builder, and Data Interoperability tools, with experience in ArcSDE and enterprise integrations. Hybrid work option after probation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in geospatial sciences or a related field is required.
Minimum of five years of utility electric, natural gas, water or broadband experience in engineering/operations.
Strong background supporting GIS networks using Esri ArcGIS applications with at least three years of ArcSDE experience.
Proficiency in Python, Arcade, or Model Builder for geoprocessing automation.
Experience with Spatial FME/ETL tools is preferred.
Ability to architect, implement, and administer enterprise GIS solutions across ArcGIS platforms.

Responsibilities

Serve as GIS expert for the Enterprise GIS lifecycle, including design, development, data quality, and security.
Provide technical leadership and training to GIS staff and other users.
Oversee ArcSDE version control and maintain data integrity and workflow processes.
Lead and coordinate GIS projects with cross‑functional teams and external contractors.
Develop and deploy GIS models, scripts, and workflows to automate data processing and reporting.
Manage enterprise GIS deployment, integration, and security across ArcGIS platforms.
