Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking a Geographic Information System Analyst Senior to design, develop and maintain enterprise GIS data, applications, and geoprocessing solutions. The role blends advanced GIS with programming, data architecture, and project leadership to deliver scalable GIS systems.

The position operates on a four-day work week (Mon-Thu) and offers a hybrid setup after six months of training, with remote work and in-office options as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer & Information Science, Geography, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of GIS experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop and maintain complex geographic databases and feature sets.
• Develop and program GIS applications to automate data capture and maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate production and serve as lead for GIS team activities.
• Provide technical guidance and review mapping data for accuracy and consistency.
• Communicate GIS vision and lead enterprise GIS initiatives.
