Job summary

Fervo Energy is hiring a senior Production Engineer in Houston to own surveillance of Cape Station wells, ESP-driven systems, and short-term forecasting. You will partner with Field Operations and Plant Management to ensure reliable, optimal production performance in a first-of-kind geothermal setting.

The role emphasizes developing a scalable surveillance platform, documenting procedures, and delivering data-driven decisions while supporting regulatory reporting and cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of production engineering or operations experience in a live operating environment.
• ESP operating experience with monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis.
• Experience building or running production forecasting workflows, downtime tracking and short-term outlooks.
• Proficiency with production data platforms, data visualization tools, SCADA and historian systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to translate data into action with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day surveillance of Cape Station wells—producers, injectors, ESP-driven wells.
• Develop KPI definitions and track system performance against operating envelopes.
• Monitor ESP systems and intervene early to prevent failures.
• Lead root cause analyses on downtime events and anomalies.
• Interface with Field Operations for day-to-day production decisions and troubleshooting.
• Maintain surveillance procedures and data quality standards across the asset base.
• Collaborate on SCADA taxonomy and digital platform data quality with the PE team.
