Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Senior Project Manager to lead key client projects in our Buffalo Grove office. You will oversee geotechnical and CMT work, manage budgets, and mentor staff while delivering high-quality results for clients.

You will coordinate proposals and contracts, serve as the primary client contact, and guide teams through field investigations, reporting, and compliance with ASTM standards.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related experience.
• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar.
• A PE or PG license is required in each state you work, or be eligible by reciprocity within 3 months of hire.
• If driving for ECS, a valid driver's license is required.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Advanced project management and consulting skills.
• Strong business development and client relationship skills.
• Extensive knowledge of geotechnical principles and applications.
• Strong working knowledge of construction materials testing and ASTM standards.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software.
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a consulting environment.
• Ability to mentor and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages geotechnical and CMT projects from proposal through completion.
• Oversees preparation and review of geotechnical reports, including technical analysis and recommendations.
• Ensures all project tasks, from proposal to final invoice, are completed accurately and on time.
• Manages project budgets, change orders, invoicing, and collections.
• Reviews field reports and ensures quality, accuracy, and completeness.
• Prepares and oversees proposals and contracts.
• Serves as primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
• Hosts and participates in project meetings to present findings and provide technical solutions.
• Supervises field investigations, drilling, and testing activities.
• Provides technical oversight and verifies calculations and recommendations.
• Mentors and develops junior staff, technicians, and project managers.
• Supports staffing decisions and resource allocation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
