Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Buffalo Grove is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Senior Project Manager to lead geotechnical and CMT projects from proposal through final delivery. This role is fully accountable for technical quality, client satisfaction and financial performance, with mentorship to staff.

You will manage field investigations, reports, proposals, contracts, and client meetings while supporting business development and maintaining ECS Core Values.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related geotechnical experience.
• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required.
• A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license is required in each state you work, or eligibility via reciprocity within 3 months of hire.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Advanced project management and consulting skills.
• Strong business development and client relationship skills.
• Extensive knowledge of geotechnical principles and applications.
• Strong working knowledge of construction materials testing and ASTM standards.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software.
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a consulting environment.
• Ability to mentor and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Leads geotechnical and CMT projects from proposal through completion.
• Oversees preparation and review of geotechnical reports and recommendations.
• Ensures all tasks from proposal to final invoice are completed on time.
• Manages project budgets, change orders, invoicing, and collections.
• Reviews field reports for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
• Prepares and oversees proposals and contracts.
• Serves as primary client contact and stakeholder liaison.
• Hosts project meetings to present findings and solutions.
• Supervises field investigations, drilling, and testing activities.
• Mentors and develops junior staff and project managers.
• Supports staffing decisions and resource allocation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
