Job summary

Terraphase Engineering Inc. is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our California offices as a senior leader who can drive business growth while delivering advanced geotechnical solutions.

You will lead complex projects, mentor staff, and act as a trusted advisor to clients. Ideal candidates bring 15+ years of experience, a PE license on the West Coast, and a proven track record of expanding client relationships and revenue in geotechnical consulting.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Established client relationships and ability to generate a steady pipeline of projects.
• Strong technical expertise in geotechnical investigations, foundation design, slope stability, and related services.
• PE license in at least one West Coast state; ability to obtain additional licenses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Leverage client relationships to generate new business opportunities and drive revenue growth.
• Lead and manage complex geotechnical projects, including site investigations and design analyses.
• Provide senior technical oversight, QA/QC, and mentorship to staff.
• Develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage project budgets and schedules.
• Represent Terraphase at industry events and client meetings to grow market presence.
