Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Lead for Transportation in Baton Rouge, LA. The role focuses on leading geotechnical engineering for bridges, embankments, foundations, and pavement-related projects, with strong coordination across civil, structural, and transportation teams.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of geotechnical experience, a PE/PG, and expertise in field investigations, laboratory testing, and advanced geotechnical software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification.
• Experience supporting bridge, transportation, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, field investigations, and geotechnical design software.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and coordinate geotechnical field investigations and laboratory testing programs.
• Lead geotechnical analyses for bridges, embankments, deep foundations, and related structures.
• Develop geotechnical recommendations to support designs, drawings, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with DOT clients and multidisciplinary project teams; ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide construction-phase services including field observations, pile driving support, and site reviews.
