Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineering Lead to join our Transportation team in Eastern Texas or Louisiana. The role supports transportation infrastructure including bridges, embankments, pavements, and foundations, with emphasis on geotechnical analyses and design recommendations.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of geotechnical experience, PE/PG certification, and strong communication skills to coordinate across civil, structural, and geotechnical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification.
• Experience supporting bridge, transportation, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical design software.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and coordinate geotechnical field investigations and laboratory testing programs.
• Review boring logs, lab data, subsurface conditions, soil mechanics, and groundwater impacts.
• Perform geotechnical analyses for bridges, embankments, foundations, and other transportation structures.
• Develop geotechnical recommendations to support designs, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Provide construction-phase services including field observations and inspections.
• Coordinate with DOT clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
