Job summary

WSP's Merrimack, NH office seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineering Manager to lead a growing geotechnical team on highway, bridge, and infrastructure projects across New England. The role blends technical leadership, project management, and client engagement in a fast-paced environment.

You will oversee design reviews, field investigations, risk assessments, and mentoring of junior staff while coordinating with owners and regulators. Occasional travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or geological engineering.
• 10+ years of geotechnical/geological engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer licensure in one or more New England states (multi-state preferred).
• Knowledge of geotechnical research techniques and protocols.
• Ability to lead a team, manage projects, and coordinate with clients/regulators.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior geotechnical/geological engineering review and technical leadership for evaluations, design and construction of projects across the geotechnical discipline.
• Oversee data collection and analysis from investigations, lab tests, surveys, LiDAR, and GIS data.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; manage project budgets and schedules.
• Lead proposal development and regional business development initiatives.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure safety, quality, and professional development.
