Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. (KCB) seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Mining Environmental Group in Phoenix, AZ. Lead geotechnical aspects of mining projects, with emphasis on tailings storage facilities, mine waste, and water management.

Hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to contribute to large-scale global projects. You will mentor junior engineers, perform risk-based assessments, and collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver safe, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering (or related discipline).
• 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably in mining.
• Eligibility for Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the United States.
• Located in Phoenix, AZ or willing to relocate.
• Experience with dam design, slope stability, seepage analysis, and site investigations.
• Strong soil/rock mechanics knowledge with lab and field testing.
• Experience in safety‑focused environments with incident reporting.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsabilités

• Lead and support geotechnical design and tailings facilities.
• Perform risk assessments, dam safety evaluations, and risk-based decisions.
• Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and external partners on field programs and engineering solutions.
• Conduct geotechnical analyses, including slope stability and seepage assessments.
• Oversee site investigations, laboratory testing, and earthworks activities.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and staff.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships throughout project lifecycles.
• Utilize industry-standard software and tools for analysis and design.
• Participate in professional development opportunities, including conferences and training.
