Job summary

NV5, a leading engineering and consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Engineer for its Alachua, FL office. The role involves directing geotechnical projects, performing analyses, and coordinating field and laboratory services.

Qualified candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree, Florida P.E. or ability to obtain in 8–12 months, 5+ years of geotechnical experience, and proficiency with gINT, LPile, SlopeW, MathCAD, CAD. Senior level is based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; MS in Civil/Geotechnical preferred.
• P.E. in Florida or ability to obtain within 8-12 months of employment.
• Minimum 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience with geotechnical design and calculations for excavation and building foundations.
• Proficiency with software: gINT, LPile, SlopeW, MathCAD, CAD.

Responsibilities

• Direct and execute geotechnical project assignments including engineering analysis and report preparation, field exploration and laboratory services.
• Provide senior level review of proposals and reports and ensure commitments to clients are met.
• Direct and develop proposals and presentations and assist in business development activities.
• Actively participate in professional and technical organizations.
