Job summary

AKRF, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer based in New York City to join our Engineering group. The role emphasizes collaboration, site exploration oversight, and soil/rock testing program development.

You will prepare detailed reports and analyses for foundation design, slope stability, and ground improvement techniques. Ideal candidates have 8–12 years of geotechnical experience, a Civil Engineering degree, EIT certification, and NYS PE licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of geotechnical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; EIT is a plus.
• NYS PE licensure preferred; reciprocity may apply.
• Willing to travel to sites in NYC, Long Island, Hudson Valley, CT and NJ; occasional overtime possible.
• HAZWOPER/OSHA training a plus and knowledge of geotechnical software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical oversight and logging of explorations (borings, test pits, CPTs).
• Develop laboratory and field testing programs.
• Prepare engineering reports with results, figures, and drawings.
