Job summary

Staffmark is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in San Jacinto, CA to lead its geotechnical engineering and materials testing practice. You will manage investigations from proposals through final reporting, oversee field work, lab testing, analyses, and reporting, and mentor engineers, geologists, inspectors, and technicians.

A California-registered Geotechnical Engineer with a Civil Eng background and 10+ years is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• California-registered Geotechnical Engineer required.
• Minimum 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of advanced geotechnical analysis methods and industry software.
• Thorough understanding of California Building Code requirements related to geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and construction inspection.

Responsibilities

• Manage geotechnical investigations from proposal development through final reporting.
• Oversee field exploration, laboratory testing, engineering analyses, and technical reporting.
• Lead materials testing projects, including site visits, consulting services, and budget management.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, geologists, inspectors, and technicians.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, design teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Support laboratory Quality Management Systems and accreditation requirements, including AASHTO, Caltrans, and DSA standards.
• Assist with recruiting, training, business planning, and growth initiatives.
• Represent the company at industry organizations, conferences, and professional events.
