Job summary
AFRY AMC is seeking a Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join the Underground team in North America. You will lead geotechnical studies, provide technical leadership, and mentor engineers across mining projects.
The role offers opportunities to work on technically challenging projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver designs through the full project lifecycle with a strong focus on safety and quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
- Senior Engineer: typically 5–8+ years geotechnical experience.
- Principal Engineer: typically 10+ years with leadership.
- Experience in mining/resources or engineering consulting desirable.
- Experience with geotechnical modelling and analysis software.
Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical studies, assessments and designs.
- Provide technical leadership across mining projects.
- Undertake geotechnical analyses and risk assessments.
- Prepare and review technical reports and documentation.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Support proposals and business development activities.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations.
