Job summary

WSP Global Inc. seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Tempe, AZ team. You will lead geotechnical investigations for transportation, property, mining, and energy projects, directing field teams, evaluating subsurface conditions, and delivering robust reports.

You will apply advanced modeling and design methods, coordinate with regulators, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safety, QA/QC, and client satisfaction on complex multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Professional Engineer license in Arizona or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design including foundations, slope stability, and earthen projects.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
• Capability to coordinate with regulators and comply with permitting requirements.
• Strong technical writing and data interpretation skills.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities for junior staff.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical engineering tasks for small to large field programs in transportation, building, and mining projects.
• Prepare technical reports and cost proposals with accurate data and analyses.
• Develop site health and safety plans (HASPs) and ensure QA/QC.
• Coordinate with regulators, subcontractors, and clients in a professional manner.
• Direct field crews in data acquisition and subsurface investigations.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
