Job summary

Kleinfelder's Boston office is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to work on a wide range of challenging projects and support our Geotechnical Engineering team in New England.

The role requires 6 to 10 years of related experience and PE licensure. You will oversee field activities, coordinate geotechnical tasks, mentor junior staff, and prepare reports and drawings for complex shallow and deep foundation projects.

Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of related experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and junior staff safely and efficiently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and perform field work, including in inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Direct junior staff to perform field activities including geotechnical drilling, laboratory testing and construction observations with subcontractors.
• Coordinate geotechnical tasks and manage medium to large size geotechnical projects.
• Review construction submittals and daily field reports.
• Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and prepare geotechnical reports for design and construction of shallow and deep foundations.
• Review work of and mentor junior staff.
• Prepare contract specifications and drawings.
• Interrelate with external clients and subcontractors.
• Provide quality technical support on municipal, commercial, transportation, energy and water projects; experience on design/build projects is a plus.
