Job summary

HDR in Houston, TX, is seeking a Sr. Geotechnical Engineer to lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, and reporting for major transportation and infrastructure projects.

The role requires at least 10 years of geotechnical experience, a PE license, and strong skills in Bentley PLAXIS, Itasca FLAC, and related tools. You will supervise teams and contribute to design decisions while supporting HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• 10 years of geotechnical experience.
• Professional Engineer license (PE) recognized by licensing board.
• Experience with GIS, CADD, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare geotechnical investigations or design activities with significant impact on major programs.
• Organize, conduct, and coordinate geotechnical investigations for transportation and other projects.
• Perform geotechnical analyses and prepare reports coordinating with designers for recommendations.
• Supervise professionals, technicians and design teams as needed.
• Function as Technical Specialist or Project Manager on large projects, though PM is not the sole focus.
