Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a senior geotechnical engineer to design excavation, foundations, dams and geo-environmental projects. You will review designs for regulatory compliance, mentor junior staff, and contribute to client proposals and technical papers.

Travel up to 40% may be required; a PE license and a relevant Bachelor's degree are essential. Domestic and international travel may be involved as part of project demands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Create excavation, dewatering, foundations, dams/reservoirs/levees, geo-environmental designs.
• Review designs for compliance with regulations and sign off.
• Provide guidance and training to junior staff and supervise junior engineers.
• Collaborate with clients and sales staff on proposals and design needs.
• Perform site reviews and studies to ensure alignment with location specs.
