Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a seasoned geotechnical/ Civil engineer to lead complex designs including excavations, dewatering, foundations and dam work. You will review compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and sign off on designs, while mentoring junior staff and aiding proposals for client needs.

You are expected to travel 20%–40% and bring expert CAD skills, strong communication, and knowledge of regulatory requirements to a dynamic team across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design excavation, dewatering, shallow/deep foundations, dams and related geotechnical works.
• Review designs for regulatory compliance and sign off on projects.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
• Collaborate with sales to respond to RFPs and develop proposals.
• Attend conferences and contribute to technical papers.
