Job summary

Anchor QEA in Seattle, WA is seeking a geotechnical engineer with 5–10+ years of experience to support our geotechnical, environmental, civil, and water resources practices. You will lead technical work on coastal and waterfront development projects and restoration efforts, and mentor staff while expanding client relationships.

The role includes field investigations, design calculations, and coordination with subconsultants and internal teams. Travel up to 20–30% may be required across the U.S.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering (MS preferred).
  • 5+ years of related engineering experience.
  • PE licensure in Washington or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Experience managing projects/tasks and interfacing with clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Attend project meetings, develop scope of work, and prepare proposals for engineering projects.
  • Perform and/or oversee technical analyses and calculations, develop recommendations and prepare reports for engineering projects.
  • Work with subconsultants and internal team on geotechnical, remediation, and restoration services.
  • Assist with development and review of design documents and supporting deliverables including drawings, calculations, specs, and cost opinions.
  • Perform task management, including team assignments, budgets, and schedules for projects.
  • Develop and execute field investigation and laboratory testing plans; travel up to ~20–30% as needed.
  • Assist with construction planning, observation, and management services.
