Endurance Mining is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for Abra Mine Site to lead underground ground control design and safety. You will guide rock mechanics work, data collection, and sign-off on critical plans, reporting to Technical Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor with geotechnical specialization and 5+ years underground mining experience.
• Experience with long hole open stopping and cemented paste.
• Knowledge of WA Mining Act, Regulations and WHS Act; proficient with Deswik, Dips, Unwedge.

Responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical support to mining operations, including data collection, program planning, execution and ground stability design review
• Ensure geotechnical design requirements are addressed at extraction plan, stope note and development design sign-off stages
• Support the Underground Manager in implementing Ground Control Management Plans/PMHMP documents
• Lead ground support audits, QAQC monitoring and geotechnical data interpretation from underground mapping and core logging
• Consult with external geotechnical advisors on modelling, reviews and management plans, and drive continuous improvement across safety and mining performance

Lead ground control at Abra Mine.

Endurance’s Abra Mine is located approximately 220km north of Meekatharra, in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The underground mine represents one of the world’s cleanest and largest lead-silver projects.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Mining team at Abra Mine Site. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will lead the safe expansion of our underground mine infrastructure, applying your rock mechanics and geotechnical expertise to keep our operations stable, compliant and performing at a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical support to mining operations, including data collection, program planning, execution and ground stability design review
• Ensure geotechnical design requirements are addressed at extraction plan, stope note and development design sign-off stages

What You’ll Bring

• 5 years’ hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering within an underground mining environment
• Experience with long hole open stoping and cemented paste
• Strong understanding of the WA Mining Act, Regulations and WHS Act
• Familiarity with mining software such as Deswik, Dips and Unwedge
• Proven ability to thrive and lead in a diverse, fast-paced operational environment

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering or Science with a Geotechnical specialisation
• Current ‘C’ Class Western Australian driver’s licence
• 5 years’ relevant industry experience in underground mining geotechnical engineering
