Job description

Our client, an award-winning engineering firm located in Bergen County, New Jersey, is seeking a Supervising Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will manage key project aspects including proposal development, budgeting, project execution, scheduling, and client communications. They will participate in engineering investigations and planning by completing well-defined tasks such as data collection and analysis, routine calculations, and evaluating alternative solutions.

Requirements/Responsibilities
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (master's preferred) and a Registered Professional Engineer in New York required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Ability to manage multi-discipline projects and support staff.
  • Strong client relationship skills and a desire to develop new clients and expand services.
  • Maintain detailed records of work, deviations, and safety issues.
  • Coordinate with Senior Inspector for logs, reports, and field records.
  • Monitor contractor’s work quality and schedule adherence.
  • Resolve on-site construction issues with contractor’s superintendent.
  • Review contractor submittals and RFIs.
  • Prepare project proposals, scope of work, and technical approaches.
  • Review responses to RFPs for subcontracts, materials, and equipment.
  • Document site activities, monitor schedules and subcontractor performance, and address issues.
  • Assist in preparing reports, correspondence, and cost tracking.
  • Provide technical support to engineering oversight staff.
Qualifications
  • Experience leading large field programs is a plus.
  • Geotechnical analysis and design experience.
  • Technical report writing skills.
  • Project and safety management experience.
  • Field documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Flexibility for field and office assignments.
