About the Opportunity
A well‑established, multi‑disciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing Dallas practice. This individual will serve as a technical lead on complex geotechnical projects across the commercial, industrial, transportation, and public infrastructure sectors, while mentoring junior staff and partnering closely with clients throughout Texas.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design recommendations for a variety of ground‑up and redevelopment projects.
- Prepare and review proposals, geotechnical reports, and technical deliverables with a high level of accuracy and professional judgment.
- Oversee field exploration programs, laboratory testing, and construction‑phase geotechnical support.
- Provide technical leadership on foundations, retaining structures, pavements, slope stability, ground improvement, and earthwork‑related designs.
- Serve as a client‑facing representative—building relationships, attending project meetings, and supporting business development initiatives.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, engineering technicians, and project managers.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering required; Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- Texas PE license (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe).
- 6-12+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience.
- Strong foundation in soil mechanics, foundation design, retaining structures, and geotechnical modeling/analysis software.
- Proven experience preparing geotechnical reports and leading complex projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client‑management abilities.
