Job summary

Michels Corporation is seeking a Senior Geostructural Engineer to apply geotechnical and structural principles for specialty geostructural technologies. You will develop calculations, coordinate design and shop drawings, and support bids and projects with analyses. Mentoring and cross-team collaboration are key parts of the role.

Site visits are possible but not routine; strong communication and detailed work in a fast-changing environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (geotechnical/structural emphasis).
• Master’s degree preferred in geotechnical or structural engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in earth retaining structures, deep foundations, and/or ground improvement.
• Hold an active Professional Engineering (PE) license in any state.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Mathcad, AutoCAD.
• Geostructural design software knowledge: Shoring Suite, SNAIL, DeepEx, Ensoft, Rocscience, PLAXIS.

Responsibilities

• Develop calculation submittals and shop drawings for geostructural designs.
• Coordinate development of design and shop drawings with project teams.
• Support pursuits and bids through preliminary evaluations and analyses.
• Mentor and support other engineers; coordinate with design and field teams.
• Travel is periodic but not routine; support engineering leadership as needed.
