Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a creative and technically rigorous Senior Applied Scientist, Geospatial to join our Mission Innovation team. You will bridge the gap between scientific first principles and market-ready data products, exploring EO/IR geospatial imagery and developing prototypes while engaging directly with customers to shape tomorrow's missions.

Qualifications

• Experience applying geospatial imagery to EO/IR data problems.
• Ability to formulate hypotheses and validate concepts from first principles.
• Experience engaging with customers to translate needs into data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first-principles analysis to formulate hypotheses for EO/IR data applications.
• Perform feasibility studies, literature reviews, and trade studies for early-stage concepts.
• Analyze pixel-level geospatial datasets to extract insights and validate concepts.
• Develop prototype EO/IR imagery products and sample intelligence outputs.
• Support customer discovery and translate needs into technical requirements.
• Collaborate with product, business, and engineering to identify new markets and tech.
• Contribute to technical proposals and white papers highlighting differentiation.
