Job summary

Spectrum Geosurvey specializes in coastal geophysical surveys and offshore renewables projects. The Senior Geophysicist will lead field teams, conduct geophysical data collection, and support office processing and interpretation.

The role requires mentoring junior staff and maintaining high QA/QC of deliverables. Applicants should have strong geophysics/geology experience, with knowledge of marine surveying and proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS.

Qualifications

• High level of competence in data processing, data acquisition, systems integration.
• High level of competence in geophysical data acquisition and processing software.
• Experience in training and mentoring.
• Experience with AutoCAD and GIS for equipment design and planning.
• At least 3 years on marine survey vessels.
• Experience leading a small team on marine survey tasks.
• Lead vessel mobilisations and calibrations.
• Strong attention to detail and computer literacy.
• Project management of intermediate complexity.

Responsibilities

• Undertake fieldwork for extended periods away from home on onshore and offshore projects.
• Lead offshore surveys as a Party Chief.
• Assist in data acquisition, processing, and reporting tasks.
• Support project managers with reporting, charting, and data management.
• Mentor and train junior staff and lead by example.
• Maintain QA/QC of field data and deliverables.
• Be the technical authority on geophysical survey equipment and software.
• Lead vessel mobilisations and calibrations.
• Engage with clients and coordinate project lifecycles.
