Job summary

The Global Edge Consultants LLC seeks a senior Geophysicist Advisor to lead integrated 2D/3D seismic interpretation, static reservoir modeling, and subsurface evaluations for EOR and CCUS initiatives.

This role bridges advanced quantitative geophysics with multidisciplinary subsurface modeling, delivering high-resolution seismic inversion, structural frameworks, and storage assessments to optimize recovery and support regulatory reserves certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Geology, or related Geoscience (strictly required).
• 8+ years of progressive technical experience in quantitative geophysics, seismic interpretation, and reservoir characterization.
• Proficiency in pre-stack/post-stack seismic inversion and AVO analysis.
• Strong knowledge of carbonate systems, siliciclastic settings, and unconventional reservoirs.

Responsibilities

• Quantitative Seismic Interpretation & Inversion: Execute pre-stack and post-stack seismic inversion, AVO analysis, and advanced seismic attribute workflows to map reservoir facies, depositional environments, and structural heterogeneity.
• Static Reservoir Modeling: Build, maintain, and update 3D static reservoir models in Petrel, integrating geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and dynamic data.
• EOR & Low Carbon Characterization: Evaluate subsurface opportunities for secondary/tertiary recovery and CCUS; characterize storage capacity and plume dynamics.
• Acquisition & Processing Oversight: Interface with operations and vendors to design, QA/QC, and execute 2D/3D seismic programs.
• Integrated Subsurface Studies: Interpret gravity and magnetic data alongside complex structural geology across varied tectonic regimes.
• Pattern Surveillance & Production Support: Collaborate with operations and reservoir engineering on pattern optimization and sweep monitoring.
• Regulatory Compliance & Reserves Certification: Lead evaluations for annual volume certifications, storage audits, and SSHE compliance.
• Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Provide peer reviews and deliver documentation for executive stakeholders.
