Qualifications

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION: Master's degree in Geology or Geophysics.
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Fifteen (15) years of experience as Petroleum Geophysicist or closely-related occupation involving petroleum geophysics.
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: fifteen (15) years of experience must include reservoir analysis and valuation, structural/stratigraphic mapping, 2D/3D seismic interpretation, and advanced seismic processing techniques such as geometry building, signal processing, noise attenuation, refraction statistics, 5D interpolation, compressive sensing, anisotropic tomography, velocity model building, and depth migration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of seismic quantitative interpretation workflows and integrate with core and petrophysical analysis.
  • Conduct regional and detailed structural and stratigraphic mapping and contribute to 2D/3D seismic interpretation and attribute calculations.
  • Perform reservoir quality evaluations and identify new trends and drilling opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have experience across all aspects of exploration geophysics, with the ability to support seismic acquisition, processing, data conditioning, seismic inversion, and the calculation of volumetric seismic attributes. The candidate must be able to utilize volumetric attribute generation including dip magnitude, coherence, curvature, and horizon/fault tracking for reservoir evaluation. They will lead all aspects of seismic quantitative interpretation workflows, including characterization of reservoir mechanical properties and creation of appropriate inversion products integrated with core and petrophysical analysis for interpretation away from well control. The candidate will perform both regional and detailed structural and stratigraphic mapping, contributing to 2D and 3D seismic interpretation and attribute calculations, while also conducting reservoir quality evaluations and identifying new trends and drilling opportunities. Deep technical expertise in seismic processing is required, including geometry building, signal processing, noise attenuation, refraction statics, full waveform inversion, 5D interpolation, compressive sensing, anisotropic tomography, velocity model building, and depth migration.
