Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Geophysicist for a remote-first exploration team with global reach. You will lead acquisition, processing, and interpretation of seismic data to support oil and gas exploration and reservoir modeling.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in exploration geophysics, strong skills in seismic processing, inversion, and attribute analysis, and can translate geophysical insights into actionable models for cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Physics, or related Earth Science field.
• 8+ years of experience in exploration geophysics, preferably Oil & Gas.
• Proficiency with seismic processing/interpretation software (Petrel, DecisionSpace Geosciences, HampsonRussell).
• Strong understanding of seismic wave propagation, data acquisition principles, and geological implications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee seismic data acquisition programs with emphasis on data quality and efficiency.
• Process and interpret 2D/3D seismic data to identify structures, stratigraphy, and hydrocarbon indicators.
• Perform seismic attribute analysis, inversion, and other techniques for subsurface characterization.
• Integrate geophysical data with well logs and core data to build subsurface models.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Geophysicist to join their remote-first exploration team, supporting endeavors that may originate from or impact areas near East London . This role is integral to the discovery and characterization of subsurface oil and gas reserves. You will be responsible for the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of geophysical data, primarily seismic, to identify and evaluate exploration prospects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of seismic data processing techniques, inversion, and attribute analysis, with a proven ability to translate geophysical insights into actionable geological and reservoir models within the Oil & Gas industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee seismic data acquisition programs, ensuring data quality and efficiency.

• Experience with attribute analysis, seismic inversion, and potentially quantitative seismic interpretation.
