Job summary

GEC in Florida seeks a growth-oriented Senior Scientist/Geologist with 5–10+ years of office and field experience. The role includes Phase I ESAs, CSER, Phase II/Level 2 ESA field work, with emphasis on roadway studies for FDOT, CFX and FTE, and mentoring junior staff.

The ideal candidate will interact with clients, read project plans, prepare scopes, fees, and proposals, manage projects, and work from a remote office in DeLand, Florida on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology or Environmental Sciences.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with Phase I ESA and Phase II/Level 2 ESA projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to mentor junior scientists and manage client relations.

Responsibilities

• Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
• Conduct Phase II/Level 2 ESAs and roadway projects.
• Prepare technical write-ups, marketing materials, and proposals.
• Review reports for completeness and accuracy.
• Direct environmental groundwater and soil sampling assignments.
